Charles William Montgomery

Charles William Montgomery, 86, of Decatur went to be with his Lord Monday, May 4, 2026.

Graveside service is 2:00PM Friday, May 8th at Perryman Cemetery in Forestburg, Texas. The family will receive visitors at 1:00PM.

Charles was born August 13, 1939 to Carrol France and Wynona (Keown) Montgomery in Decatur, Texas. He was united in marriage March 13, 1961 to Jeanette Lanier in Gainesville, Texas, happily married till her passing in 2024. Charles was in the agriculture business for years, farming, raising milk cows, driving a milk truck and harvesting hay. He loved the outdoors, bluegrass music, playing 42 and purple martins. He was a beloved brother, uncle and friend to many who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carrol and Wynona Montgomery, his beloved wife Jeanette and brother Gary Montgomery.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sister Teresa Dodson, sister-in-law Carrolle Montgomery, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great, great nieces and nephews and special friends.
