Graveside service is 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Alvord Cemetery with Gerre Joiner officiating.
Charles was born July 17, 1926 in Alvord, Texas to Thomas and Minnie May (Stonecipher) Grissom. He married JoAnn Boyd on December 27, 1946 in Decatur, Texas. They were married 62 years until her passing in 2009.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a brother, and a grandson, Chuck Grissom.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughters, Shelly Smith and Suzy Grissom of Weatherford; 2 sons, Tommy Grissom and wife Debra of Waxahachie and Jim Grissom and wife Debbie of Wichita Falls; 4 grandchildren, Andrea, Josh, Kristy, and Chris; 7 great grandchildren including a newborn, Jaxson Smith. Numerous other family members and a host of friends.
