Chock was born January 21, 1951 in Whitewright, Texas at home to John Robert Taylor and Lena Elizabeth (Ewing) Taylor, he was the 8th child of 11. He married Deana Dodson in Plano, Texas on December 16, 1978. They settled in Decatur, Texas where he worked side by side with her grandfather at Dodson’s Truck Stop, Dodson’s Firecracker Stand and raised many baby calves from a couple of milk cows. Chock drove a rock truck for years, built several homes with Neal’s Custom Homes. He learned how to do many different trades never settling for 1 career, he was definitely a jack of all trades and actually mastered most of them.

In 1994 they went to Yellowstone with Deana's dad, Dwight Dodson to close a postal office, that Dwight had a contract on. That year they got an offer to have a contract on the post office in Canyon Village, Yellowstone National Park, which lasted 20 seasons, May-Sept they would spend their summer living and loving Yellowstone, Wyoming, Montana and Idaho. In 2014 they decided it was time to settle down again, so in 2015 they traveled with Dwight back to Kentucky to visit his cousin. They had thought they would do some traveling to places they hadn’t seen, that came to a halt in 2016 when Chock’s last job was to be a nurse and caregiver for Dwight Dodson, his father-in-law.

Chock loved working in the yard, having a pretty mowed yard, feeding the birds, he also fed many fire ants. He is remembered and cherished by his wife, Deana Taylor of Decatur; his sister, Dorothy Nash of Granbury; brothers, Jimmy Taylor of Perrin, Kenneth Taylor of Altus, Oklahoma and Edward Taylor of Sanger, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, John Robert Taylor and mother, Lena Elizabeth Taylor; sisters, Mary Katherine Love, Betty Gene Mason and Johnnie Sue “Susie”; brothers, Robert Lee Taylor, Albert Duncan Taylor, and Tommy Taylor.

Chock will be remembered for his love of family, his strong work ethic, the many stories, laughter and memories he shared with those around him. His presence will be deeply missed but his Legacy will live on in the hearts of all that knew and loved him.
