Carolyn J. Thompson

Bridgeport ~ Carolyn J. Thompson, 72, an entrepreneur , went to be with our Lord Friday, September 9, 2016 in Bridgeport.

Memorial service is 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport.

Paul Harris will officiate.

Carolyn was born on January 26, 1944 to Sidney and Blanche (Hardaway) Wharton in Palo Pinto. She was united in marriage to Joe Long who preceded her in death in July of this year. Carolyn was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Mineral Wells.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe Long; her brother, Tommy Wharton; her sisters, Peggy Tutt, and Bonnie Pond; and her great grandchild, Logan Tubb.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Yvonne Gulick of Grandbury, Elizabeth Clendennen and husband Allen of Bridgeport; her son, Eddie Tubb of Vernon; her daughters, Elaine Cooper of Mineral Wells, and Denise Dempsey and husband Charley of Bridgeport; her son, Grady Thompson and wife Shannon of Springtown; her stepdaughter, Jennifer Long of Atlanta, Texas; her stepson, Josh Long of Atlanta, Texas; 20 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; her brother, Teddy Cook and wife Annie of Lewiston, Idaho; her heartfelt son, Terry Burton of Bridgeport; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and a host of friends.
