Bridgeport ~ Buddy Blalock, 76, a tool pusher, went to be with our Lord Thursday, Septenber 29, 2011 in Fort Worth.
Funeral is 2 p.m. Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Hawkins Funeral Chapel in Bridgeport with burial in West Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Rev. David Rucker and Rev. Fred Morrow will officiate. Pallbearers are Jerry Stinnett, Don Stinnett, Bob Tucker, Grant Mitchell, Jimmy Kay, and J.P. Carpenter. Honorary pallbearers are Steve Maxfield and Jim Duncan.
Buddy was born on August 23, 1935 to Jack and Maggie (Searcy) Blalock in Quitman, Texas. He married Carnelia Grace Tackel on May 2, 1959 in Bridgeport. Buddy retired from MND Drilling. He was a member of the Roughneck Club and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bridgeport.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Buddy Erik Blalock; and his sister, Jo White.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 52 years, Carnelia (Connie) Blalock of Bridgeport; his son, Jeff Blalock and wife Shanna of Bridgeport; his grandchildren, Amanda Handley, Erika Blalock-Barboza and husband Sergio of Woodward, Oklahoma; his great grandchildren, Jalyn, Dane, and Rayli; his sister, Mary Kate Kirby of Quitman, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
