Decatur ~ Boston Cole Monett, age 19, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, in Dallas.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur. The Funeral Service will take place at 10 AM on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Decatur.

Born on May 7, 2004, in Fort Worth, Texas, Boston was the cherished child of Kyle Monett and Amy Crist Rodenburgh. He worked as a Driller Helper for Maxon Drilling, was an avid fisherman, bull rider, and his affection for animals was unrivaled. He had an unwavering commitment to his friends, always ready to lend a helping hand or put them first without hesitation. Boston was a beloved son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, boyfriend and friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Roy Monett, and his great-grandparents, Mary Ann Meer, Kurt Alexander Meer, Edward Duane Crist, and Pauline Campbell, and uncle, Eric Monett.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Amy Rodenburgh, and stepfather Luke; his father, Kyle Monett, and stepmother Leslie; his brother, Bryce Monett; his step-siblings, Joey and Bryson Rodenburgh, and Kelsie Worley; his grandparents, Oren “Skip” and Angela Howard, Larry and Celia Crist, Gayle Monett, and Jim and Bonnie Rodenburgh; his girlfriend, Emilee Adams; numerous aunts, uncles, great-aunts, and great-uncles; cousins, and an extensive circle of friends.
