Boyd ~ Bobby Charles Splawn, 62, a truck driver, went to be with our Lord Saturday, August 15, 2015.
Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Rev. Wendell Splawn will officiate. Pallbearers include Rodger Simonson, Ricky Kemp, Rick Durbin, Jeff Fry, R. J. Hays, and Buddy Kirkland.
Bobby was born on July 25, 1953 to Billy and Betty (Kirkland) Splawn in Fort Worth, Texas. He was united in marriage to Shawn Smith on November 6, 2010 in Bridgeport. Bobby worked at 3-Way Trucking as a truck driver. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy.
He was preceded in death by his mother; and his brother, Benny Splawn.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 18 years, Shawn Splawn of Boyd; his sons, Bobby Splawn Jr of Boyd, Danny Christman of Montana, Rodney Simonson and wife Melissa of California, Rodger Simonson and wife Carolyn of Dallas; his daughters, Steffanie Splawn of Dallas, Katie Christman of Fort Worth, Melody Orr of Boyd, and Joy Tucker and husband Dustin; 12 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; his father, Billy Splawn of Boyd; his sisters, Brenda Fry and husband Jimmy of Boyd and Belenda Welch and husband Randy of Boyd; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
