Bobbie Lee (Lewter) Rector

Bobbie Lee Rector, 91, went to be with our Lord Monday, September 18, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

Graveside Service is 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 22, 2023 at Sanger Cemetery in Sanger, Texas. Family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Mrs. Rector was born February 6, 1932 to Bert and Mattie (Wood) Lewter in Sanger, Texas. She was united in marriage June 26, 1955 to Sam Dale Rector in Sanger, Texas. Mrs. Rector graduated from North Texas State University in 1952 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science. She began her teaching career in Itasca, Texas as a home economics teacher. She retired from Decatur ISD after teaching fourth grade for 26 years. Mrs. Rector was a longtime active member of Bell Baptist Church where she was a faithful Sunday School teacher and pastor’s wife. In her later years she was a member of First Baptist Church in Decatur. Bobbie was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend to many who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Mattie Lewter; and her husband, Sam D. Rector; her sister, Mildred Davis and brother-in-law, Charlie Davis.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Dale Rector and wife Mary Lynn of Crowley, and Mark Rector and wife Susan of Decatur; her daughters, Lee Ann Arrington & husband Mitch of Bridgeport, and Rhonda Enis & husband Curtis of Decatur; grandchildren, Lacie Rector of Crested Butte, Colorado, Ryan Rector & wife Liz of Ft. Worth, Lindsey Arrington of Weatherford, Emily Byrd & husband Jake of Mineral Wells, Whitney Enis of Burleson, Logan Enis & wife Laura of Decatur, Blake Arrington & wife Whitney of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Taylor Rector of Dallas, and Haley Rector of Decatur; 5 great-grandchildren, Lily, Ruby Kate, Beau, Barrett, and Billy Blake; extended family members and a host of friends.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Baptist Church in Decatur.
