Billy David Lester

Greenwood/Slidell - Billy Lester, 89, of Greenwood went to be with his Lord Tuesday, June 30, 2020 in Denton, Texas.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2020 at Greenwood Baptist Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Tracy Epting will be officiating. Family will receive friends 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday at the Church.

Pallbearers include William Reedy, Bregg Reedy, Landon McCasland, Brian Moore, Nelson Wells, and Les Linder.

Billy was born on September 4, 1930 to William David and Mildred Eliza(Morris) Lester in Dallas, Texas. He served his country in the United States Navy for 11 years. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Anne Coleman on April 28, 1961 in Dallas, Texas. He and Elizabeth Anne were married for 57 years till her passing in 2018.  He was a member at Greenwood Baptist Church and was a retired mechanic for Powerlift Forklift Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a sister, Maurine Tinney.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughters, Rene Jacoby of Justin, and Millie Reedy and husband Ken of Denton; his son, Michael Lester and wife Kim of High Point, North Carolina; 7 grandchildren;  10 great grandchildren;  3 great-great grandchildren; sister, Jackie Jean of Carrollton; numerous extended family and a host of friends.
