Billie Ruth Smith, 73, of Chico was born Sept. 13, 1932 to William Daniel Martin, Sr. and Hattie Ruth Legg in Palestine, TX. She married Allen Smith on May 7, 1949 in Pecos, TX. Billie was a homemaker and a member of the Alvord First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Allen Smith of Chico; sons, Claude Smith of Duncan, OK, Bill Smith and wife Linda of Runaway Bay; daughters, Nola Smith Fraley and husband Mike of Chattanooga, TN, Debbie O'Bryant of Chico; grandchildren, Richard O'Bryant, Jr., Dustin Fraley and Ashley Smith; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
