Billie “Bill” Farley, 83, passed away on April 29, 2026.

Bill was born on August 13, 1942, in Evarts, Kentucky. In his later years, he made his home in Decatur, Texas, where he lived a steady life centered around the people he loved.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sharyn Farley, in 2017.

He is survived by his brother, James Farley; his son, Troy Farley; his daughter, Dawn Gibbs and husband Ernest Gibbs; his granddaughter, Kassie Wittkowski and husband Matthew Wittkowski; as well as multiple nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Bill served his country in the United States Navy as a medic. Following his military service, he built a long career as a mechanic, eventually retiring from Phillips 66. He was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and the pride he took in doing things the right way.

A man of faith, Bill lived out his beliefs more in the way he treated others than in words. He had a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a helping hand, often without seeking recognition.

Above all, Bill was devoted to his family. He showed up—consistently and without hesitation—and set a standard of love, loyalty, and commitment that will continue to guide those who knew him. He was a husband, father, and grandfather who led by example, and his legacy will live on through the family he loved so well.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 4, 2026, at Sandhill Cemetery in Decatur, Texas.

He will be deeply missed and remembered with love.
