Betty Jo Bush

Boyd~ Betty Jo Bush, 92, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, August 18th, 2022 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Funeral Service will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 25, 2022 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial to follow in Cottondale Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Ray Cook, Jr. will officiate. Pallbearers to include, Jimmy Wilson, Mark Wilson, Bobby Cook, Jr., Joseph Bush, Matthew Bush, Cameron Smith, Michael Sullivan, and Phillip Lang.

Betty was born on September 22, 1929 to Marvin Chapple and Urvel Almeda (Adams) Cook in Decatur, Texas. She worked as a Secretary for Azle I.S.D. for many years and was a homemaker who took pride in her home and family. Betty was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Springtown.   She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and will be missed dearly by all those that knew and loved her so.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Dorothy Wilson and husband Bob; her brothers, Ray Cook, Sr. and wife Patti, Sam Cook Sr. and wife Linda, and Bobby Cook.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sharron Chism and husband David of Weatherford; her son, Marty Bush and wife Michelle of Boyd; her five grandchildren, Amy Smith and husband Phillip, Anna Nielsen, Rita Sullivan and husband Michael, Joseph Bush, and Matthew Bush and wife Ashley; her nine great-grandchildren, Cameron, Haley, Abby, Gavin, Travis, Taylor, Zeke, Deklyn and Logan; and one great-great-grandchild, Henry; her sisters, Lois Nevoit and Wanda Beltram; her brother, Bill Cook and wife, Carolyn; and her sister-in-law, Sondra Cook; numerous extended family members, nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
