Betty was born on July 7, 1940 to Estin and Ada (York) Delp in Indiana. She was united in marriage to Chester Leon Sutton on March 31, 1960 in Indiana. Betty was a beloved wife, sister, and mother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chester Sutton; and 3 brothers, Everett, Bobby, and Billy Delp.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sheila Thiesing and husband David of Cottondale; her son, Michael Sutton and wife Melinda of Plainfield, Indiana; 2 brothers, Jimmy and Don Delp; 5 sisters, Irene Schoening, Shirley Ross, Judy Shields, Faye Ground, and Mary Delp; other relatives and a host of friends.
