Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 27th at the First Baptist Church in Cottondale with burial in Cottondale Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home.
Rev. Charles Pugh and Rev. John Hadley will officiate. Pallbearers include Jacob Baber, Stahlman Remmele, Lucas Remmele, Ian Remmele, Clint Wilson, Brad Barnett, Elliot Strader and Philip Erickson Jr.
Betty was born on November 25, 1932 to James and Pearl (Presley) Killough in Muleshoe, Texas. She was united in marriage to Merlin Remmele on March 24, 1951 in Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Jimmilee Coffee, Louise Bush, and Kathryn Bush; her brothers, Weldon Killough, Morris Killough, Donald Killough, and Bill Killough.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 61 years, Merlin Remmele of Paradise; her daughter, Debbie Remmele Baber of Paradise; her sons, Jimmy Remmele, Harold Remmele and wife Renea, Ben Remmele and wife Anita, and Gene Remmele and wife Lisa, all of Paradise; her grandchildren, Holly Wilson and husband Clint of Creede, Colorado, Misty Barnett and husband Brad of Paradise, Keila Strader and husband Elliot of Forney, Jacob Baber of Alexandria, Virginia, Katelyn Erickson and husband Philip of Galloway, New Jersey, Elisabeth Remmele, Ellen Remmele, Lucas Remmele, Stahlman Remmele, Rachel Remmele, Ian Remmele, all of Paradise; her great grandchildren, Gracie Barnett, Brady Barnett, Britton Barnett, Carter Barnett, Savannah Wilson, Reece Wilson, Corlie Strader, Alice Strader, and Jaxon Erickson; her sisters, Mary Fisher, Doris Jones, and Ruby Parker; her brothers, Floyd Killough and Warner Killough; numerous nieces and nephews; other family members and a host of friends.
