Betty was born on July 5, 1934 to Loyd and Pauline (Lyons) Nichols in Dallas, Texas. She was united in marriage to G.W. Manning, Jr. on September 23, 1950 in Wheatland, Texas. Betty retired from the Wise County Sheriff
