Decatur: Betty Jean Hogue, 76, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 in Decatur.
Graveside service is 2 p.m. Friday, February 13, 2009 at Sweetwater Cemetery. Reverend Charles Taylor will officiate. Family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
Betty, a retired waitress, was born August 31, 1932 in Decatur to Tillie Ford and Pearl Catherine (Bridges) Hudson. She is the widow of Jackie Juan Hogue and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Jacky Carter and wife, Dian of Alvord and James Carter of Decatur; daughter, Donna Lawson and husband, Freddie of Decatur; brothers, Ray Hudson and Mike Hudson of Decatur and Claude Hudson of Fort Worth; sister, Evelyn Dawson of Chico; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
