Betty Jane Chase Endres

Funeral service is 10 a.m. Friday, at the First United Methodist Church of Alvord with Rev. Dr. Bob Wilson and Rev. Ed Cherryholmes officiating. Burial will be in Alvord Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Jerry Matthews, Mark Matthews and Wesley Sehi.

Betty was born September 24, 1921 in Yehola, Oklahoma to Leonard Earl and Margaret Ethel (Threadgill) Chase. She graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City in 1939 and attended Blackwell-Davis Business College. She was employed at Southwestern Bell in Oklahoma City as a bookkeeper until 1946. She married Robert Hugh Endres of Custer, Oklahoma on February 5, 1947.

Robert and Betty moved to Alvord in 1963 where she was a member of the Alvord United Methodist Church and was President of the United Methodist Women. She helped develop the Alvord Public Library and served as its first librarian for five years when it was a volunteer position. Due to health reasons, Robert and Betty moved to Clifton, Texas in 2005.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of more than 61 years, Robert Endres, daughters, Kathy Crosby, and husband Beau of Woodway, Texas and Doris Flora and husband Mike of Alvord; sons, Marshall Endres and wife, Donna of Decatur and Greg Endres and wife, Pat of Alvord; four granddaughters, Lesley Goodson, Meagan and Rachel Endres and Ralene Schilt; 4 step-grandchildren, 2 great grandsons and 1 great granddaughter.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister.

The family requests that memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church of Alvord.
