Becky Elaine Melton

April 29, 1965 — September 1, 2025

Runaway Bay

Becky Elaine Melton, 60, a beloved wife, daughter, mother, and grandmother, left this world peacefully in the comfort of her home on September 1, 2025, in Runaway Bay, Texas.

As we gather to honor Becky’s memory, her presence will undoubtedly be felt in the stories shared and the love exchanged among those she held close. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on September 4, 2025, at 4:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 PM, both taking place at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport, Texas. She will be laid to rest Monday September 8th, 2025 at Douglas Park Cemetery in her hometown of Douglas, Wyoming.

Born on April 29, 1965, in Douglas, Wyoming to Phyllis (Sorbon) and George Falkenburg, Becky was a radiant soul whose heart overflowed with love and dedication to those she loved. After graduating from Douglas High School, Becky embarked on a journey that would see her most proud accomplishments unfold in the warmth of family life. On June 3, 1989, she married her devoted husband, Billy Melton, in Douglas, and together they traveled across numerous states. They eventually settled down and built a home filled with laughter, sports, joy, and countless memories in Runaway Bay, where they’ve lived for over 25 years.

Becky’s life revolved around being a loving wife and an extraordinary mother to her two sons, Tyler and Trevor. Her devotion to her family was evident in everything she did, and her fondest moments were spent watching her sons play sports all over the state, golfing with her friends, and traveling with her Mom and Sister. One thing Becky always looked forward to was getting to go back home to Wyoming over the 4th of July and being with her family on the ranch. Becky’s love extended beyond her immediate family, enveloping her granddaughters, Aubree and Millie, who brought her an immeasurable amount of joy. Throughout her life, Becky found happiness in simple pleasures like spending time with her many friends, watching football, or telling stories about any number of things. There was no room that she couldn’t bring that unmatchable “Becky” spunk to. Loudly and fiercely, she loved those she held dear to her heart. Most of all, Becky was proud of her two sons.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband, Billy; her sons Tyler & wife Makinzee, Trevor & girlfriend Katie; her beloved granddaughters Aubree and Millie; her mother, Phyllis Falkenburg; her brothers Jeff Falkenburg & wife Mary, Garret Falkenburg & wife Shelley, and sister Joan Boulter & husband Will; many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends who held her dear.

Becky’s spirit will forever live on through her family and the countless lives she has touched with her kindness and warmth.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Susan G. Komen foundation to help the fight against breast cancer.
