Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Bridgeport. Burial: East Bridgeport Cemetery

The Reverend Gary Dimmett to officiate. Pallbearers: Frank Curtis, John Bankston, Bill Gandy, Carl Kemp, Leslie Phillips and Clayton White. Honorary Pallbearers: W.D. Wimberly and Lloyd Wimberly.

Jimmy was born May 2, 1914 to Henry and Ella Oliver Phillips in Ben Wheeler, Texas. He married Jewel Kemp on November 30, 1935 in Midland, Texas. They were married 61 years until her passing on May 6, 1997. Jimmy retired after 35 years of service from General Dynamics making their home in Bridgeport, Texas.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jewell, 3 sisters: Frances White, Effie Curtis White and Gladys Wimberly, 2 half sisters, Maggie Herron and Mamie Herron (yes they married brothers) and 1 half brother, Wilburn Phillips.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Betty Graves and husband Harold of Bridgeport; 2 grandchildren, DeAnna Johnson and husband Mike of Bridgeport; Greg Graves and wife Teresa of Bridgeport; 6 great grandchildren: Nathan, Niki, Nolan, Nevan, Chris and Leslie; 3 great, great grandchildren: D'Arcy, Trinity and Lauren; other relatives and a host of friends.
