BOYD -- Ava Marie Erwin, 77, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008, at her home in Boyd. Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Saturday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Interment: Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends: 6-8 p.m. Friday. Chaplain Craig Rolen will officiate. Pallbearers will be Richard Martinez, Griff Methvin, John Methvin, Paul Hunter.
Ava was born on July 14, 1930 in Vernon, Texas to Efton and Ida May (Beck) Hunter. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Boyd.
Ava was preceded in death by her parents; the father of her children, J.T. Bolin; her second husband, Tony Erwin; 2 sons, A.J. and Harvey Bolin; and 3 sisters.
Left behind to cherish her memory are: daughter, Ethel Martinez and husband Richard of Boyd; grandchildren, Daniel, Amanda, Monica, Rachel, and Erica; great grandchildren, Michael, Christopher, Jacob, April, Jordan, Reagan, Anthony, and Alan; brothers, John, Andy, Luis, and Eldon Hunter; sister, Louise Johnson.
