Decatur ~ Annie Lee Wood, 95, a retired teacher, went to be with our Lord Sunday, January 28, 2018 in Decatur.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at First United Methodist Church with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
Rev. Brian Bosworth will officiate. Pallbearers include Sam Renshaw, Ray Nellis, Fred Renfro, Paul Farmer, Braden Byrd, and Buddy Black.
Annie was born on August 9, 1922 to Claude and Beulah (Holt) Reeves in Decatur, Texas. She was united in marriage to Cecil Roy Wood Sr. on April 25, 1942 in Bakersfield, California. Annie retired as teacher where she taught for 38 years at Fort Worth Independent School District. She was a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church in Decatur.
He was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cecil Roy Wood Sr.; her son Cary Wood; her sister, Ruth Castleberry, her brothers, Joe and Bonner Reeves.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Cecil Roy Wood Jr. and wife Nancy of Welder, Texas; her daughter, Sylvia Hornback and husband Dick of Decatur; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Killen, Clinton Wood, Coleman Sterling, Craig Wood, Hunter Hornback, and Justin Hornback; 15 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
