Anna "Dixie" Marie (Dickie) Geron

Decatur ~ Anna Marie “Dixie” Geron, 97, went to be with our Lord Thursday, March 3rd, 2023.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 8th, 2023 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur with burial at Geron Family Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Dwight Trotter will officiate. Pallbearers include Todd Weger, T.J. Weger, Lou Greiner, Colton Unger, Ethan Jeffryes, and Daxx Patterson. Honorary pallbearer is Justin Unger.

Anna was born March 14, 1925 to Alonzo Monroe and Arletta May (Brown) Dickie in Pottsboro, Texas. She was united in marriage January 11, 1945 to William Travis Geron in Ft. Worth, Texas. Anna was a nurse working in the Health Industry for many years, first at Flo Memorial in Denton, then at Darwin Hospital in Decatur, and the Decatur Community Hospital where she retired. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo and Arletta Dickie; her husband, William T. Geron, Sr. and a son-in-law, Vernon Hunt.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Betty Hunt of Decatur; her sons, William “Bill” Geron, Jr. and wife Linda of Decatur, and Glen Geron and wife Sue of Alvord; 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
