Ann Fortenberry Hancock, 100, of Decatur went to be with her Lord Monday, March 16, 2026.
Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 19th at Rosston Methodist Church in Rosston, Texas with burial at Rosston Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 18th at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
Ann was born August 26, 1925 to Everett William and Fern (Harper) Fortenberry in Wise County, Texas. She was united in marriage March 15, 1947 to Kenneth Hancock in Dallas, Texas. Ann was a retired saleswoman after many years with Macy’s Department Store. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend to many who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Fern Fortenberry; her husband Kenneth Hancock; and 2 sons, Phil & Mark Hancock.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, JoAnn Rimpau and husband James of Decatur; her grandchildren, Richard Rimpau and wife Leigh, Jacob Rimpau, David Hancock and wife Jess, and Scott Hancock; 2 great-grandchildren, Aly Jordan and husband Ryan, and Danni Hancock; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Caroline Jordan; and daughter-in-law, Bonnie Hancock; extended family and a host of friends.
