Amanda Beth Jones-Cortes, a woman whose life was marked by both dedication and vibrant spirit, was born on January 25, 1975, in the quiet town of Farmington, Missouri. On April 20, 2026, she departed this world in N. Little Rock, Arkansas, to be reunited with her beloved father, William M. Jones, and to join her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Amanda’s journey was a testament to the grit and grace with which she faced life’s challenges. Beginning at the tender age of sixteen as a dental receptionist, she embarked on a career path that blossomed alongside her tenacity and natural leadership. What started as a job evolved into a passion; Amanda ascended from receptionist to office manager and ultimately took her place as the Regional Director of Operations for Smilebrands in the Arkansas market. She possessed a rare talent for demystifying dentistry for patients, making those visits less daunting and more reassuring. Her leadership breathed new life into every office she touched, inspiring staff to exceed expectations and to genuinely care for the smiles they nurtured. It was a role she fulfilled with unwavering commitment and an infectious enthusiasm for the well-being of others.
Amanda’s essence was far more than her professional accomplishments. Known for her playful nature and a sense of humor that could brighten the darkest day, she kept a close-knit circle, fiercely loyal and often protective. She wasn’t one to feign affection; if you found yourself outside her circle, she made it clear through unmistakable signals. But those lucky enough to be inside knew they had a steadfast ally, someone who would go to great lengths for them—a true ride-or-die friend.
Her love for the whimsical was no secret, with Harry Potter capturing her heart and imagination in a way few other things could. It was an obsession that brought a sparkle to her eye and a warmth to those moments she shared.
Beyond Amanda’s striking personality and professional success was the profound love she bore for her daughter, Emma Bustos. Born on June 20, 2000, in Bedford, Texas, Emma was everything to Amanda—the apple of her eye and the “pain in her gluteus maximus,” as Amanda would lovingly admit. Their bond was uniquely special, filled with the complexities, challenges, and above all, the unconditional love that defines mother and daughter.
Amanda also leaves behind a loving family who were pillars at her side: her daughter Emma, now residing in Panama City, Florida; her devoted mother, Jessie Jones, of Bedford, Texas; her brother, William "Bill" Jones and his wife Marie of Ellisnore, MO; her sister, Amy Mills, also of Bedford; and her nieces & nephews, Bill & Marie's children, Anja, Ronin, Jessica and Amber Jones, Amy’s son's, Joel & Castiel Mills. Their connections stretch wider still, with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and a myriad of friends whose lives she touched deeply.
As the community gathers to honor Amanda’s life, a Celebration of Life service will be held on May 2, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Bedford Memorial Funeral Home and Cremations, located at 524 Bedford Rd, Bedford, Texas, 76022. Here, stories will be shared, memories rekindled, and the indelible impact of Amanda’s presence celebrated.
While the world feels the void left by Amanda’s passing, her legacy endures—in the smile of every patient she reassured, in the hearts of the loved ones she fiercely protected, and in the laughter that echoed through her irrepressible spirit. Amanda Beth Jones-Cortes was a force of nature who lived on her own terms, loved without reservation, and will be profoundly missed by all fortunate enough to have known her.
