Decatur ~ Alvin Loyd Strange, 70, a retired maintenance man, went to be with our Lord Saturday, June 20, 2015 in Decatur.
Graveside service is 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Sweetwater Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Rev. Gary Don Sweatman will officiate.
Alvin was born on December 7, 1944 to Silas and Gracie (Matheson) Strange in Denton, Texas. He was united in marriage to Judy Caraway on October 7, 2005 in Springtown . Alvin retired from Victor technology after 32 years of service. He served our country in the U.S. Navy. Alvin enlisted August of 1965, served May of 1967 as a special unit and did tours as a sniper hunter. He was a Pentecostal.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 9 years, Judy Strange of Decatur; his sister, Louise Brumley and husband Charles of Krugerville; ; his daughter, Sandra Strange of Denton; his sons, Kenneth Strange and wife Mayla of Sprintown, and Robert Strange of Denton ; his step-daughters, Stephanie Jackson of Alvord, and Amy Fogle of Decatur; 12 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and tons of friends.
