Boyd ~ AJ Pickett, Jr. went to be with our Lord Friday, October 28, 2022.

Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Boyd with burial at Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mark Autry will officiate. Pallbearers are Norman Pickett, Michael Pickett, Aaron Pickett, Codee Pickett, Dylan Pickett, Griffin Pickett, and Cooper Pickett.

AJ was born July 20, 1933 to Andrew Jackson and Mary Magdaline (Duncan) Pickett in Clairette, Texas. He was united in marriage August 20, 1970 to Cheryl Cole in Azle, Texas. AJ was retired from the Federal Aviation Administration after many years as a construction representative. He proudly served our country in the United States Army.

AJ was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Mary Pickett; a brother, Cecil Pickett; 3 sisters, Wanda Porter, Wilma Largent, and Jean Barnard.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 52 years, Cheryl Pickett of Boyd; his sons, Norman Pickett and wife Melissa, Michael Pickett and wife Jena, and Aaron Pickett and wife Rachel; 7 grandchildren, Codee Pickett and wife Rhiannon, Dylan Pickett and wife Sadie, Griffin Pickett, Cooper Pickett, Linden Pickett, Addysan Pickett and Aidan Pickett; 3 great-grandchildren, Jackson, Maisie, and Finley; his brother, Donald Pickett and wife Laquetta; sister, Roxie Kirby; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Memorials can be made to the Boyd VA Memorial Park.
