Fort Worth ~ Robert “Earl” Brassfield, 77, a retired mechanic formerly of Decatur, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, July 22, 2014 in Fort Worth.
Graveside service is 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2014 at Jonestown Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Earl was born on April 11, 1937 to Floyd and Florene (Walker) Brassfield in Decatur, Texas. He married Emma Baskin on April 11, 2009 in Fort Worth. Earl loved listening to country music. He enjoyed his work as a mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Virginia Brassfield, his special friend, Lynette Brassfield; 3 brothers.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Emma Brassfield of Fort Worth; his sons, Jerry Brassfield and wife Marilyn of McCurtain, Oklahoma, Robert Brassfield and wife Shorty of Cisco, and Mark Brassfield and wife Jehree of Gorman; his daughters, Earlene Townsend and husband Randy of Henderson, Nevada, Debbie Elem and husband Mark of Cisco, Mindy Hanes and husband Dennis of McCurtain, Oklahoma, and Teresa Joseph of Seattle; 5 stepchildren, Thomas Cook of Fort Worth, Walter Cook and wife Jamie of Fort Worth, Lewon Horton of Fort Worth, John B. Cook of Fort Worth, and Byron Cook and wife Charity of Fort Worth; 11 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; his brother, Jerry Don Brassfield of Springtown; his favorite sister-in-law, Jean Ford of Springtown; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
