Decatur ~ Richard W. Hale, 46, a Police Officer, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, May 9, 2018 in Decatur.

Funeral is 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Decatur. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Decatur.

Pastor Ken May will officiate. Pallbearers include Thomas Hale, Ryan Hale, Jonathan Hale, Cameron Hale, Gerald Wright, and Jacob Richardson.

Richard was born on July 9, 1971 to Robert and Donna (Baker) Hale in Columbus, Ohio. He was united in marriage to Jenifer Rhoten on March 5, 2005 in Fort Worth. Richard was a member of the First Baptist Church in Decatur. He was a devoted Christian.

Richard was a Police Officer since 2001 a volunteer firefighter and licensed paramedic. He always had a passion for law enforcement due to his grandpa, Dad and step Dad who were all involved in law enforcements. In his 17 years in law enforcement Richard served the communities of Fort Worth, Newark, Decatur, and State of Texas.

Richard had undeniable love and devotion for his wife, children and family. He lived his life to help and please others. Richard was an amazing son, brother, uncle, grandson and Pops. He was a mentor to young children and students of all ages in his community. Richard donated bone marrow and didn’t want any recognition from it. He fostered numerous children and adopting one as his own. Richard’s hobbies included family, friends and working on cars. He was a friend to all, he never met a stranger. Richard always wanted people to feel comfortable and respected when they were in his presence. He lived life to the fullest with absolutely NO REGRETS!

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Etta Hale; his son, Lucas Hale; his step father, Jim Glenn.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 13 years, Jenifer Hale of Decatur; his children, Thomas, Ryan, Jonathan, Cameron, Cheyanne, Jackson, Kynlee, and Brentley Hale; his mother, Donna Martin and husband Wayne of Haslet; his father, Robert Hale and wife Carol of Joshua; his sisters, Daneen Hall, Dorene Payne and husband Bill; his grandchildren, Emily and Brayden Hale; his grandparents, Delbert and Donna Baker of Florida; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
