Linda Gail (Nix) Smith

Aurora ~ Linda Gail Smith, 63, a retired supervisor for the Tarrant County Appraisal Review Board, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, August 6, 2014 in Rhome.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 8, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Aurora with burial in Aurora Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.

Rev. Jimmy Withers and Rev. Phillip Weitner will officiate. Pallbearers include Joe Best, Tim Taylor, Paul Young, Justin Thompson, Dawson Thompson and Chad Dyer. Honorary pallbearer is Cannon Green.

Linda was born on February 3, 1951 to Clifton Leon and Dorothy (Farrar) Nix in Longview, Texas. She was united in marriage to David Smith on April 28, 1990 in Arlington.

Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Nix; her sister, Rosemary Nix Green; and her nephew, Steven Epperson.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 24 years, David Smith of Aurora; her daughter, Lydia Dyer of Fort Worth; her granddaughters, Rachel and Krista Dyer; her father, Clifton Leon Nix of Chandler; her sisters, Barbara Nix of Chandler, Donna Best of N. Richland Hills, Kathy Wilder of Lindale and Cindy Reeder of Chandler; her brothers; Roy Nix of Troup and James Wisdom of Marshall; numerous nieces and nephews; other family members and a host of friends.
