Linda (Ramer) Dicks

Rhome ~ Linda Lee Ramer Stivers Dicks, 70, a retired office administrator, went to be with our Lord Saturday, May 2, 2015 in Decatur after battling lung cancer.

Linda was born on November 16, 1944 to Leonard and Ona May (Mount) Ramer in Falls City, Nebraska. She grew up in Barada, attended Shubert Public Schools and graduated from Falls City High School in 1962. Linda married Donald Stivers that same year. She then was united in marriage to James Dicks on June 25, 1980 in Freemont, Nebraska. After retiring from Siemens Company in 2009, she kept busy with part-time jobs and gardening. An avid animal lover, Linda has been called the “chicken-lady” for naming and treating her hens like pets. Her bright smile and contagious laugh will be missed by her many friends and colleagues.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Wayne and Kenneth Ramer.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers to please consider memorials to a local animal shelter.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of nearly 35 years, James Dicks, Sr. of Rhome; her sons, Randal Stivers and wife Tina of San Antonio and James Dicks, Jr. of Houston; her daughters, Dawn Roehrich and husband David of Tampa, Florida, and Darla Barnes and husband Lance of Dexter, Michigan; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; her brother, Doyle Ramer of Falls City, Nebraska; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
