Azle - Johnny Lee McCombs, Jr. ,55, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2024 while diving in Honduras, one of his favorite passions.  Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday March 23, 2024 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.

Jeannie Evans will officiate.

Johnny was born December 20, 1968 to Johnnie Lee and Judy McCombs in Battle Creek Michigan. He was united in marriage July 4, 2002 to Caleena Beth at Lake Bridgeport. To John his family was everything, he never knew a stranger and was always ready to help anyone in need. Diving was a passion of his, he loved to hunt, fish, and spend as much time with his family as he could. Johnny was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, son-in-law, and friend to many who will miss him dearly. He was lovingly called “Wah” by his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Lee McCombs.

Those left to cherish his memory are, his wife, Caleena Beth McCombs of Azle; Parents, Judy and Dan Altum and Dianna and Bill Cockerell; his children, Rebecca Dianna Deande and husband Robert of Azle, Matthew John Rogan and wife Kenzie of Azle, Elise Danielle McCombs of Lakeworth, and Jonathan Michael McCombs, of Lakeworth; 5 grandchildren, Melaneigh, Skylar, Courtnee, Oaklyn, and Ella Deanda;  a grandson on the way in the summer of 2024, sister Reva McCombs,  extended family members and a host of friends.
