Billy Ray Gray

Newark~ Billy Ray Gray, 81, of Newark, went to be with our Lord, Tuesday, May 7, 2019.

Funeral service is 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church Boyd with burial in Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at the church.

Rev. Mark Autry will officiate. Pallbearers are Jaret Holmes, Boyd Stockard, Blake Stockard, Danny Lambert,  Mike Lambert, and Tony Lambert. Honorary pallbearers are, Tommy Lambert, Johnny Lambert, David Lambert, Jim Lambert and Chuck Lambert.

Billy was born June 22, 1937, to John Kirkland and Ada A. (Pearce) Gray in Quinton, Oklahoma. He proudly served our country in the United States Army. He was united in marriage January 24, 1974 to Dorothy Lambert in Weatherford.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sons, Ricky Thornton, and Randy Thornton; his sisters, Vonita Casilas and Joyce Ann Gray; his brother, Jerry Gray; and his grandson, Justin Sloas.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 45 years, Dorothy (Lambert) Gray of Newark; his daughter, Gaye Stockard of Newark; his grandchildren, Janet Holmes, Jaret Holmes and wife Sarah, Boyd Stockard and wife Bridgette, Michael Lindsey and wife Trinity, Angel Penny and husband Josh, Brittney Thornton and husband Lavarius Ashford and Jason Sloas; his great-grandchildren, Skylar, Tori, Hudson, Mackynzi, Elaine, Nicohlas, Adrian, Seth, Kamrin, Triston, Hayden, Guage, Little Michael and Luke; his sister, Betty Youngblood of Newark; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
