Robert Matt Kasner

Runaway Bay ~ Robert Matt Kasner, 74, went to be with our Lord Monday, July 1, 2019, at his home in Runaway Bay.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2019 at Grace Fellowship Church in Paradise with burial in East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

Pastor Rocky Johnson will officiate. Pallbearers will be Matt Kasner, Kane Trammell, Robby Kasner, Steven Trammell, Nick Keller, and David Walker. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Trammell, Bob Cantrell, Gary Bell, and Cliff Massingill .

Robert was born July 4, 1944, to Fred and Mildred (Rich) Kasner. He was united in marriage December 7, 1963, to Jane Bruster, in Bridgeport. Robert graduated from Bridgeport High School, and retired from Lockheed after many years as an engineer. He was a member of Grace Fellowship Church in Paradise.

Robert was a good athlete who loved football and baseball. He played golf and spent a lot of years playing tennis and competing in tournaments. Robert spent most of his life on Lake Bridgeport skiing and then towing grandkids all over the lake. He loved his home and spent a lot of time working in his yard. Robert also spent a lot of time at our lake house relaxing and fishing. Most of all he loved his family and they all knew how much.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Jane Kasner of Runaway Bay; his son, Robby Kasner and Julie Pierce of Bridgeport; his daughter, Angie Kasner and Chad Rhodes of Bridgeport; his grandchildren, Matt and Amanda Kasner, and Kane Trammell; his great-grandchildren, Leigha Eubanks, Cooper Kasner, and Acen Torres; his brother, Joe Kasner of Runaway Bay; his sister, Virginia Spigelmyer of Kingsland; numerous extended family and a host of friends.
