Decatur ~ June Lavell Mann, 87, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord Friday, November 30, 2018, in Decatur.
Funeral is 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 3, 2018, at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel Decatur with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
Dr. Van Gardner will officiate. Pallbearers include James Davidson, Landon Banks, Greg Arrington, Lonnie Roberson, Ronnie Roberson, and Larry Roberson.
Lavell was born on May 14, 1931, to William Lon and Bertha Ardella (Whetsell) Roberson in Fort Worth, Texas. She was united in marriage to Billy Joe Mann on September 6, 1948, in Decatur, Texas. Upon her husband’s retirement from the United States Air Force, Lavell and Bill returned home to Decatur. They became owners and operators of the M&M Food Mart from 1970 – 1987. She joined the Order of the Eastern Star while her husband was stationed in Germany in 1965. Lavell became a member of Decatur of Eastern Star #543 and Boyd #897, and received her 50 year pin in 2016. Lavell was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Billy Joe Mann of 61 years.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Rick Mann and wife Claire of Friendswood, Texas; her grandson, Ryan Mann and wife Keenan of Pearland, Texas; her grandson, Dylan Mann and wife Allison of St. Petersburg, Florida, Jordan Mann of Stephenville, Texas; her granddaughter, Caitlin Mann of College Station, Texas; her sister, Marcine Rebstock of Lewisville, Texas; her sister in law, Linda Roberson of Sherwood, Arkansas; many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
