Joann Boston

Boyd~ Joann Boston, 80, went to be with our Lord Saturday, December 8, 2018, in Decatur. 

Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home in Decatur.

Rev. Phillip Weitner and Dan Dodd will officiate. Pallbearers include Josh Boston, Robert Boston, James Boston, Dan Dodd, Roddy Boston, and Jackie Duncan. Honorary pallbearers include John Broussard and Josh Dodd.

Joann was born December 24, 1937, to Oscar Rodie and Sarah Francis (Stone) Brazil in Skene, Mississippi. She was united in marriage to James Adler Boston on May 17, 1958, in Durant, Oklahoma. Joann was a scrub nurse for the labor and delivery department at Harris Hospital for more than 40 years. She was a member of Flatwood Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 41 years, her sons, Ricky Dean Boston, and James Earl Boston; and her daughter-in-law, Darlene Boston.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Robert Boston of Boyd, and Roddy Boston and wife Susanne of Boyd; her grandchildren, James Wilson, Bobby Wilson, John Broussard and wife Natalia, Caitlyn Broussard, James Boston and wife Cassie, Josh Boston and wife Jamie, Stephanie Jones, and Dalton Boston; her brother, Paul Brazil and wife Paula of White Settlement; her dearest best friends, Dan and Sharon Dodd of Boyd; 10 great grandchildren; as well as numerous other family members and a host of friends.
