Janice (Bridges) Read

Boyd ~ Janice Bridges Read, 83, went to be with our Lord Thursday, October 11, 2018 in Decatur.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel Boyd with burial in Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.

Rocky Bransom will officiate.

Pallbearers are Dayne Read, Grant Read, Alonzo Secrett, Jeremiah Legagney, Lee Nelson, Dylan Bransom, Cooper Nelson and Tyler Nelson.

Janice was born on July 10, 1935 to Lonzo and Belva (Wilson) Bridges in Decatur, Texas. She was united in marriage to Jackie Lamoiene Read on July 13, 1953 in Boyd. Janice retired from Boyd High School as a secretary. She was a member of the Boyd Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 65 years, Jackie L. Read of Boyd; her daughters, Cindy Read of Arlington, Gwende Ruth of Boyd; her son, Jackie Read and wife Delisa of Santo; her grandchildren, Nicky Maxey Legagneur and husband Michael of Brooklyn, New York, Dayne Read and Grant Read of Santo; her great grandchildren, Alonzo, Jeremiah, Dominique, and Maxey; her sister, Sue Harvey; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

The family of Mrs. Read have asked that donations made to the Go Fund Me page for Amy Lee in honor of Janice.
