James Ricky Morse

James Rickie Morse crossed over into heaven November 26 at 10:12 AM to be with the Lord and there to greet him was his mother Vallie Morse and his father Otis Morse and brother and many other family members gone on before us.

Funeral is 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Hawkins Funeral Home chapel in Decatur with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.

Pastor Randy Snow and Bro. Terry Johnson will officiate.

James was born on March 12, 1952 at the Harris Hospital in Ft Worth, Texas. He graduated high school, L.D. Bell in Hurst, Texas and, at that time, owned a 1972 Mach One he traded in for a 1978 Canary Yellow Monte Carlo which he regretted and grieved over ever since. He met and married Cheryl Forester, the love of his life and the only woman he ever loved, April 12, 1978. The following year the eldest son was born, Justin Morse, 40 years old, who is married to Stephanie Morse, They have five children, eldest is Carleigh Rutherford 17 Yrs old, Caleb Rutherford 15 years old, Emma and Ella Morse 12 years old, Luke Morse 10 years old. Allen Dale Morse 35 Yrs old. James was retired from Martin Marietta in Chico Texas where he worked as a lab engineer, until his retirement in 2011. James enjoyed weightlifting he was 6 foot three and had always been muscular and strong, was a Golden Gloves contestant in his teenage years, once sparred with George Forman. James was a hard worker, good provider, loyal husband, loving father, kind and considerate to all. He called both of his sons, “Baby Son.” We love and miss him already.

Other family members left behind to cherish his memory are his sisters, Joann Collard of Burleson, and Judy and husband J.T. Weaver ; and his brother, Don Morse and his wife Tootsie of North Richland Hills
