Edward Cordero

Bridgeport ~ Edward Cordero, 80, a retired truck driver, went to be with our Lord Sunday, July 8, 2018 in Fort Worth.

Funeral is 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2018 at The Father’s House with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

Kevin Casey will officiate. Pallbearers include David Cordero, Mike Baker, Taylor Story, Robert Cordero, Shelby Story and David Douglas.

Edward was born on November 18, 1937 to Augustine and Elvira (Gonzales) Cordero in San Marcos, Texas. He was united in marriage to Shirley Kennedy on May 13, 1988 in Decatur. Edward was a member of The Father’s House.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Toby Cordero; his sisters, Cory Connors and Isabel Cordero; his brother, Augustine Cordero.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 30 years, Shirley Cordero of Bridgeport; his sons, Patrick Cordero and wife Debbie of Decatur, John Paul Cordero of Royce City and Dave Douglas and wife Shawn of Jamestown, North Carolina; his daughters, Angela Owens of Ovilla, Melissa Cordero Crowell of Quinlan and Deborah Story and husband Ray of Bridgeport; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; his brothers, Robert Cordero and wife Wilma of Copperas Cove Joe Cordero and wife Carol of Denton and David Cordero of Decatur; his sisters, Gracie Chandler of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Betty Cordero of Decatur; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
