Paradise~ Doris Bridges, 92, retired from Montgomery Wards, went to be with our Lord, April 21, 2019 in Bridgeport.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at First Baptist Church Cottondale with burial in Paradise Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Rev. Terry Terry, Rev. Charles Pugh, and Jessica Bridges will officiate. Pallbearers are Harold Remmele, Gene Remmele, Larry Ansley, Bud Read, Ryan Murphy, and Kerry Marlett. Honorary pallbearers are Don Gentry, Merlin Remmele and Jack Moody.
Doris was born July 28, 1926 to Phil and Maye (Whittonton) Gardner in Hamilton. She was united in marriage to T.W. Bridges on December 30, 1945 in Hamilton. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Cottondale.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, T.W. Bridges; her granddaughter, Stacey Bellah Anderson; her brother, James Wylie Gardner; her sister, Louise Lamb; and her son in law, Randy Bass.
Those left behind to cherish her memories are her son, Tom Bridges and wife Lizann of Bridgeport; her daughters, Barbara Bellah and husband Fred of Seymore, and Connie Bass of Bridgeport; her grandchildren, Crystal Bradley, Wesley Bella, Addie Bridges, Jessica Bridges, and Britni Jacobson- Bridges; her 7 great- grandchildren; her 3.5 great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Louis Harold Gardner and wife Janis of Angleton; her sisters, Phylis Smith of Gatesville, and Earlene Morris of Vernon; other relatives and a host of friends
