Brandy Ann (Goodwin) Wallen

Brandy Ann “Sissy” (Goodwin) Wallen entered the house of our Lord on Monday, January 7, 2019 in Decatur, Texas at the age of 45.

Brandy is survived by her parents, Donald and Lilace Goodwin; children, Chloe (fiancé Jonathan) and Chase Wallen; brothers Brandon (Michelle) and Bradley (Staci) Goodwin; Mark Wallen; and many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews, and dear co-workers and friends too numerous to name individually.  

When her eternal life began she was joyfully reunited with maternal and paternal grandparents, numerous aunts and uncles, her sweet cousin, and her angel baby.

Brandy was born in Grapevine, Texas on September 10, 1973. She attended school and graduated in 1991 from Taft Union High School in Taft, California. Following high school, she completed cosmetology school in Bakersfield, Ca, but found her calling as a swim coach instructor after returning to Texas. She loved “her kids” that she taught and mentored during her time with Fit-N-Wise.

She was blessed with her daughter, Chloe, in 1998 and her son, Chase, in 2004, both of who were the joys of her life. She is remembered fondly as a loving, kind, generous, and vivacious soul who always tried to make the best out of every situation and live life to the absolute fullest. To her, family was everything. It didn’t matter if you were a blood relation- if she chose you, you were family and we are all better for having known her.    

Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, January 12, from 6 - 8 p.m. at Hawkins Funeral Home, 405 E. Main St, Decatur. All who knew Brandy are welcome to attend and encouraged to join us in celebrating and remembering her life.

The funeral will be held on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Community Church, 2840 West US-380, Decatur. 

Graveside services will take place at Leann Cemetery, outside Aurora, Missouri.
