Barbara (Harper) Summers

Decatur ~ Barbara Summers, 102, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2019 in Decatur.

Memorial service will be at a later date at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas.

Barbara was born on June 5, 1916 to Cordie and Nancy Alice (Berry) Harper in Cotulla, Texas. She was united in marriage to Charles Francis Summers December 4, 1940 in San Antonio. Barbara a retired school teacher was a member of Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witness in Decatur. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sisters, Danie Williams, Holly Hine, Lorene Patton, and Ada Lee Noah; her brother, J.C. Harper; and her niece, Darlene Lee.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Douglas Gene Summers and wife Patricia of Decatur; her granddaughter, Ashley Summers of Englewood, Colorado; her nieces, Nancy Morrison, Maylee Noah, and Donna Beckhorn; her nephews, Glen Hine, Phil Hine, and Harvey Williams; and a host of friends.
