Barbara Anne (Headley) Stice

Paradise ~ Barbara Anne Stice, 53, Assistant Director of Wise County Shared Services, former Assistant Superintendent of Boyd ISD, wife, mother, and “Mimi” went to be with our Lord Wednesday, January 1st, 2020 in Paradise.

Memorial is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday January 8th, 2020 at First Baptist Church in Boyd. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

Barbara was born on August 3rd, 1966 to Raymond and Bobbie (Brown) Headley in Fort Worth, Texas. She was united in marriage to Roger Stice on May 2nd, 1982 in Boyd.

She graduated from Paradise High School in 1984 and continued her education at Texas Women’s University where she received her Bachelor’s of Science in Education. Barbara taught at Boyd ISD for many years until she decided to return to college at the University of North Texas where she received her Master’s of Education in Administration.

She had a love for all children and the most enjoyable time in her life was when she was in the classroom. Barbara wanted to make a bigger impact on the lives of all the students and even though her heart was torn she eventually left the classroom to work in the central office as the Director of Special Programs and then as the Assistant Superintendent at Boyd ISD.

Barbara had a great love for all the families she worked with in Boyd, but in the last few years she followed her heart for special needs children and took a position at Wise County Shared Services in Bridgeport.

Although, she had a full career with many different titles the title she loved the most was “Mimi”. She loved spending time with her family and especially with her children and granddaughters. She and Roger often went fishing and camping. If they weren’t at home you could often find them at Lake Bridgeport reeling in the Crappie or out with the family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Minor Headley and her mother, Bobbie Lenora (Brown) Headley; and an unborn grandchild.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 37 years, Roger Stice of Paradise; her daughter, Stacy Brown and Dwayne Marden of Paradise; her son, Kevin Stice and wife Ashley of Ranger; her 3 grandchildren, Ryleigh and Taylor Brown, and Kinley Stice; her brother, Bobby Headley and wife Chelsee of Paradise; her sisters, Rayma Young and husband Tom of Paradise, and Cheryl Headley of Paradise; numerous nieces and nephews, a host of friends and colleagues.
