Chico ~ Arlon R. Morris, 85, a Farmer and Rancher, went to be with our Lord, Sunday, May 6, 2018 in Chico.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Morris Memorial United Methodist Church with burial in Cumby Cemetery. Family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Rev. Mike Miller will officiate. Pallbearers include Corey Cowling, Carson Cowling, John Cowling, Taylor German, Walker Woolman, Braiden Black and Skylar Black.
Arlon was born on November 21, 1932 to Roy Leslie and Winnie (McGuire) Morris in Chico, Texas. He was united in marriage to Bobbie Lucille Martin on February 7, 1953 in Fort Worth. He was a member of the Morris Memorial United Methodist Church in Chico. He served on the Wise County Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Directors for several years. Arlon won the Texas Zone 5 Conservation Farmer Award in 1989. He was a member of the Chico Chapter # 433 Order Of The Eastern Star as well as a 50-year member of Chico Masonic Lodge 508 and Dallas Scottish Rite.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, John Morris; his sister Lanell Morris; and his brother, Roy Hulen Morris.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years, Bobbie Martin Morris of Chico; his son, Audie Morris and wife Lynn of Chico; his daughters, Bettie German and husband Mark of Chico and Peggy Black and husband Russell of Chico; grandchildren, April Cowling and husband Corey, Taylor German and wife Meghan, Morgan Woolman and husband Walker, Braiden Black and wife Scout and Skylar Black; great grandchildren, John and Carson Cowling, Parker and Campbell German; and a host of old friends.
