Chico ~ Gladys Faye Cox, 74, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, December 5, 2017 in Fort Worth.
Funeral is 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Alvord with burial in Chico Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Rev. Bill Cleveland will officiate. Pallbearers include Bradley Beasley, Joel Johnston, Brayden Johnston, Eddie Talent, Charles Talent and Leon Talent.
Gladys was born on January 2, 1943 to Clarence and Lida (Cook) Talent in DeKalb, Texas. She was united in marriage to Jimmy Cox on January 12, 1979 in Decatur, Texas. Gladys was former employee of Decatur ISD and worked for Walmart until her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Alvord.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepson, Tony Cox; her sister, Doris Nut; and her brother, Charles Talent.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 38 years, Jimmy Cox of Chico; her sons, Jimmy Johnston and wife Sandy of Arlington, Tommy Johnston of Lubbock, Curtis Beasley of Paris, Roger Beasley and wife Patsy of Kennedale; her stepson, Robert Cox and wife Diane of Chico; her brothers, Ed Talent and wife Louis of Watauga, Leo Talent and wife Janet of Watauga, Leon Talent of Destin, Florida; her sister, Joy Follis of Brownwood; her grandchildren, Joel Johnston, Bradley Beasley, Victoria Johnston, Amber Cox, Ashlie Aguliar, Travis Cox, Bonnie Kemnitz; her great grandchildren, Emma, Penny, and Bradley Beasley Jr., Brayden Johnston, Journey Brown, Gabriela Aguliar, and Susanna Chambers; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
