Charles "Chuck" Knupp Obituary

Charles “Chuck” Roscoe Knupp, 96, a retired air traffic controller, went to be with our Lord Monday, February 5, 2018 in Decatur.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial in West Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.

Phillip Weitner will officiate. Pallbearers include Miles, Owen, Micah, Sam, Connor, Garrett, Liam and Daniel.

Chuck was born on March 31, 1921 to Charles M. and Myrtle (Wood) Knupp in Warren County, Pennsylvania. He was united in marriage to Margaret Wade on January 4, 1999 in Colleyville. Chuck proudly served his country in the Army Air Corp/United States Air Force as a Pilot and an Officer flying B-24's with missions over Germany during World War II. He was also a Veteran of the Korean War. Chuck obtained the rank of Captain at the end of his service. He was a member of the PATCO – Professional Air Traffic Control Organization.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Eleanore Knupp; his second wife, Ruth Jane Knupp; his son, Charles Randall “C.R.” Knupp; his siblings; Inez Marguerite, Lyall Vernon, Everett La Verne, Lelah, Norris, Greta, Gilbert Monroe, Clarence Jean and 2 infant siblings.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Margaret Wade Knupp of Runaway Bay; his sons, James Knupp of Graham, Mark Knupp and wife Linda of Azle, Cary Knupp and wife Cherie of Lake Worth; his son in love, Harold Buntley Rudd and wife Stephanie of Kyle, TX; his daughter in love Lisa Toledo-Ocampo and husband Jorge or Lakeside; his grandchildren, Miles, Owen, Micah, Sam, Connor, Garrett, Liam and Daniel; his great grandchildren, Journey, Jett and Braylen; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
